Christmas Fun

As you can see, I've been busy getting ready for Santa! On the left are the stockings. Unfortunately, I didn't get them finished until Dylan and Nikki were almost grown. Lucky Korby got his when he was still a little guy.
The stockings were stitched using perle cotton on linen, and you can see the great little charms and buttons and ribbons on them by clicking once on the picture.
Now we come to one of my eccentricities ... the tree. I have a reputation, of sorts, for going a little overboard when decorating the tree. My mom says it can be seen from space. She's probably exaggerating.
The angel topper is made from an old quilt, and I wish I could remember where I got it (quite unlikely). At the moment, there are more than 400 ornaments, but that will definitely change. As long as someone sells new and antique ornaments, I'll probably have to collect more (hello, my name is Doris and I'm an ornament addict). Just like the stockings, you can get a really good look at the tree by clicking once on the picture.
So, everyone, we're gonna play a game. Check back here in a few days, and there will be an activity (individual or group ... your choice). If you show up, I'll be expecting you to play along, so be ready. Hope to see you then ...

From my "objective" point of view, your stockings and Christmas Tree are fabulous. Little did we know when I gave you the first project with needle and thread (to keep you out of trouble) that it would become a pursuit of happiness. Mom

Even if that stocking wasn't done till I was older it's still one of my fav. things to see every year. And hope you'll make them for future son-in-law and grandchildren too. Being the middle child I don't wanna be left out! Lookin good mom.

Doris, I'm so jealous of your tree. Mine is standing in the living room with nothing on it. Are you surprised? The blog page looks great and sounds like lots of fun.
P.S. Don't forget breakfast on Monday! Linda

Well, this is too much fun! Your tree and all your needlework show such talent! I did notice a shell angel and white ball that changed places.
Your tree makes me want to put mine up but we're leaving town so I will stare at yours instead. It really is a spectacular tree.

I don't think there are too many ornaments on your tree. I hate a sparsely decorated tree, I always want to buy ornaments for those poor trees. Also I've done seven of those SB stockings myself, including one for a Nikki. I think I'm going to like reading your blog too! :)
