Sisterhood of the Rose

No pictures, no big news. Just a short (ok, not short) note about the Sisterhood of the Rose, etc. Our line-up has changed, so I wanted to make sure that everyone knows what's going on. My book containing Lo How a Rose is on its way to Jennifer (no blog) in Canada. I sent it on Monday, but according to the clerk who helped me, it could take a week or two to get to her. I'm a rookie at overseas mail, but I really thought it would be there within a week. I know, I know, that's why they call it snail mail. Silly me. Anyway, the book was supposed to go to Valie after Jennifer, but some kind and wonderful friend has sent Valie the chart, so she's given her spot to Annemarie. Annemarie in the Netherlands will then send it to Ellen in Singapore, who will send it to Erica in New York, who will send it to our newest member, Deb in Florida. Sounds pretty great, huh? I promise I won't go through all the places again, but I just love the sound of it.

If anyone else out there would like to get their name on the list now or in the future, please just email me. A sisterhood is always happy to accept new sisters to share in the fun. Don't be shy ... just join in. We're happy to welcome you.

So it's Friday (TGIF), and the number is 7. Yes, for those of you keeping score with me (or not), it's just seven weeks until summer vacation (gasp!). I know! Seven weeks! We can do that. A rather great snowstorm is heading our way (yahoo ... third one in nine days), so tonight and tomorrow Merlin and I'll be spending time in Eden. I thought of working on something else this week, but Eden called out the loudest. Maybe later this weekend, some other poor deserving WIP will holler louder.

By the way, my mom and dad are near Philadelphia right now visiting our fossils (ancestors who settled in Lancaster County in the 1730's) and sight-seeing, and mom didn't take any stitching on the trip (another gasp!)! I know! What could she have been thinking? Well, she thought she needed a break ... until about 36 hours later. Then she was telling me that she probably should've brought something (duh, Mom ... lol). It's all gonna be OK, though. I set her up with the Strawberry Sampler's address (love that shop), and my folks will program the fancy GPS thingy, then Dad will be a little lighter in the wallet, and Mom will be equipped for travel. Whew! Crisis averted. Now the other part of this story is that I have some time to pull farther ahead of Mom on ATS (evil laugh). Hmmmm. Maybe that's why I'm having difficulty hearing any other WIPs call out to me.

I'll be checking in later. Make some fun.

Doris, your Mom going somewhere without a stitching project filled me with horror! ;) Thank goodness you found a shop for her and hopefully you'll get some stitches in on ATS too. I'll be cheering you on!! :)

I am cheering you on to a grand finish on ATS, Doris! A GPS is the best thing that ever happened to me. i am so directionally challenged I can barely fight my way out of a paper bag with a flashlight. It has helped me find many a fun place off the beaten path. I hope your mom's shopping trip was successful and that she had fun visiting your revolutionary era relatives sites. How cool!!!!

Oh gosh Doris I can't believe it's still snowing where you are. I HATE the snow mainly because I don't need any help in falling at all (I have MS). I am so cheering you on to get ATS finished and can't wait to see it. I bought some fabric from Needle in a Haystack and am having it mailed straight to the lovely woman (girl) who is going to grid it for me because I decided I was just too chicken to do it without having it gridded. Lots of Love Patti xxx

LOL! Hope you get way ahead on ATS :-).

Hope your mom has a good time at Strawberry Sampler, I've heard really good things about that shop.

Hard to believe that snow would be coming, this late in the year, huh? But I do remember snow, and lots of it in April. Stay safe and warm and enjoy your Eden journey. Hope it is nearing the end!! Can't believe your mom went without any stitching, goodness, that is the first thing that gets packed when I go somewhere! LOL

I can't believe your mom took off with out a project! But then again, it gave her reason to visit a shop which is always a great time. Can't wait to see your progress on ATS! Enjoy your snow, but please don't send it here! LOL

Well, I am counting down the days to the Easter break - not even thinking of summer yet ! I hope you don't get snowed it - here it definitely feels like spring (even if timidly).
Have a great Sunday,

Only seven weeks until summer vacation - that sounds heavenly. Next week Easter break will start here, then at the end of May there will be another break, and only at the end of July summer vacation will start over here. Hmmm, I seem to live from break to break, lol.
Looking forward to seeing a happy dance for your ATS. I love this project.
Let's hope that the snow storm missed you ...

LOL Do you think your mom does that, "Oh, I forgot to bring a project, oh, my!" trick often enough?? LOL I've picked my ATS for a once a week rotation, too, Doris. It's been calling me like a siren everytime I walk near my little sitting room. Maybe this is the year to finish it...
Hugs, DEb

your mom must have had a temporary lapse in her memory to go away without stitching,LOL!!! Hopefully ATS will be done soon; I can't wait to see all 3 of them again! Stay warm! we're heading for cold temps here in alabama too; not normal for us this time of year!!!

Ooh, I can hear LHOR coming :o) Thanks for having me as a Sister. I'm thrilled and honoured.
I think SALs are incredibly inspiring because they make you want to move just as quickly (or sometimes, if you're evil-minded like you) quicker than the other participants. I hope you will be able to stay ahead of your mother :o)

Hi, Doris! I wanted to introduce myself as a new follower to your blog. I'm from New York, but O know the Strawberry Sampler. They used to hold stitching retreat and a friend and I went a couple of time. I loved it! Actually, it was the first LNS that I had ever been to. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and I look forward to reasing your posts.

Its so much fun visiting new stitching shops! I went on a trip last week and took my stitching but still, just had to find a LNS and added a few things to my stash. The best thing I got while on my trip was a magnifier which is portable/ hangs on a string around my neck.
I wish it would snow here in Georgia. They had it in the weather prediction and I don't believe it will tonight.

Your mom is going to The Strawberry Sampler???? Oh, I am so jealous! That's my beloved LNS. Love those gals!

Good luck with your ATS! And the snow--agh! My mom is out in Arvada, visiting my brother, and can't get over all the snow!
